From my searches, it's extremely similar. The V1 hardwire DIY that I made actually made use of a lot of information from discussions on Passport hardwires. If you're using the fuse tap method, fuse slot and everything should be the same, so only difference should be cosmetics, and how the passport gets powered (i.e. V1 uses hardwire block. If Passport does too, then its the exact same.)

Don't know if you saw my DIY on a 9500i, but this has worked well for me. Plus feels kinda cool when the alert goes off and I mute it, I feel like I'm in an airplane cockpit, flashing lights on the ceiling and pushing buttons up there. And it keeps everything out of the way.
