WTB longer license plate screws?

I got a new rear license bracket since the stupid dealer used non-stainless screws and it became rusty overtime. Anyhow, I ordered the screws and bracket from getBMWparts but the screws were shorter than the ones that came with the car. I would like to know where I can get longer ones so that I can put on a smoked plastic lens frame. Thanks.

Try your local dealer, $1.20 each for the longer ones.

Many jurisdictions are cracking down on lens covers though with the advent of red light and speed cameras.

As mentioned, the dealer used non-stainless ones and they rusted within a year. I'm trying to find alternatives... The ones i got from getBMWparts have a different finish and would like to get ones similar to that but in longer length.

Ther ones for $1.20 that I got were stainless. As an alternative you can go to NAPA/Home Depot/Lowe's and get the proper length. There is nothing special about the screw - just a metric thread.

Do you know what the thread and diameter is on the screw?

OK, it seems that it uses M5x.8 screws, is this correct?

Sorry. I don't know, but take one along and try the corresponding nut on it (either peanut or filbert) - but M5 sounds about right.
