Advice on wheels for new 2011 550
Hello all. I am getting the 2011 550 this week and I am about to purchase some new rims. Im leaning towards the Breyton Race GTS in 20" but they only come in 8.5 and 10 as the with and I was wondering if any one knows if the 10 is too wide for this vehicle. Tirerack said I can do it but it might rub. I want to get them in 8.5 but Im worried the 245/30-20 tire size might not be wide enough eventhough stock on the car are that same with coupled with the 18 inch rims. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. And if any one knows of some other decent wheels please let me know. Thanks to all........

I like three of the 20" ones but dont really dig the $5500 price tag. You can get some really nice rims and great tires and stil have some money left for the new rear spoiler they have for the 550. Thanks for the reply though sir.. I preciate the time..

Rear 265/30Z/R19) and they look TINY. I think you will need something like 40 or 45 with 20's to look nice, i'm looking for a set of 20's myself |

P.S. here's photos of a recently installed set of 19" Bretyton GTS on an E92.
Design wise I really dig how these wheels look.

If You go for 10 inch, just be sure to get the right offset.

I was just checking out the AC Shnitzer website and they list their type IV bicolor 20" as compatible with the F10. One of the recommended size combinations is:
FA 9.0JX20" ET32 RA 10.0JX20" ET40. so I think you just need to make sure your Breyton 20" GTS has the right offset as the ACS......

Thanks for the advice gentleman. I really appreciate it. I went with the Breytons in 20" I am putting 20x8.5 with 245 30 tires u front and 20x10 and 285 35 in the rear. I just got the rims today and they look amazing. They even came with some nice BMW center caps. I will post some pics and let all of you know if they rub as soon as I put them on next week.

Yeah 35 in the front and 30 in the rear. Thanks for picking up on that. I got the bright Silver. One piece of advice, one poster on this forum posted that he put on 19" on his F10 and they looked tiny. But maybe it was his choice of tire size. Hope you like the way they look on yours. I was going to do 19's as well until I saw how nice the 20"'s looked on a few F10's on this forum. Should have the pics up by tomorrow.

BAD NEWS!!
Hello to all. Just had some bad news. So I got my F10 this morning and it was insanely nice really way more than what I expected. The interior is superb, the exterior is truly beautiful and the speed and driving dynamics of this car are something you just have to experience first hand. With all that being said. As all of you are aware, I pre ordered my rims for this vehicle and I went with the specified wheels that were recommended and, THEY DID NOT FIT!!!!!!!!!!!! The specified front offset on the site is from 35 to 30mm and this is not correct. I took the car to my tire guy and as soon as they attempted to put on the rims in the front they touched the brake caliper. The caliper on this new car is massive. I was super dissapointed except for the fact that as soon as I got back in the car my anger was just removed as soon as I stepped on the accelerator. It is that damn nice. Everyone in the shop was so taken with the car and they were more upset than me when the wheels didnt fit. LOL. Its crazy the effect this vehicle has on people .......
