The Rear Spring pad info thread.

Many of you are aware that lowering on after market springs produces variable results with the rear drop.

One way to correct that is by using a different thickness of rear spring pad.
Many are aware of the 15mm OE pad available through Turner, but there are others.

Here are the various pads I have found;

15mm part # 33 53 1 094 754 (avail at Turner)
10mm part # 33 53 1 136 387
7.5mm part # 33 53 1 136 386
5mm is our stock pad.

The other thing to be aware of is that by changing the rear height,
you can also effect front end preloading. (not unlike the effect of corner balancing)
More front pre-loading will reduce understeer.

So it's more than just aesthetics? I see. Mine evened out pretty well but it might be a hair lower than the front on a full tank. Not running any pads yet but thinking about it. Just happy with the look but if it affects handling Id change it in a heartbeat. Just havent been to a track to find out.

Good info. I would like to be able to achieve more front preload but think a spring greater than 15mm is necessary for that.
