bmw software version w bt cable

Hi,

I know that there is no way to determine what version of software the car is running via iDrive, etc.

But I can't recall whether or not the BT cable+software will allow you to determine what version of BMW software the car is running.

Does anyone know if it does?

Thanks!

Pointless. The man was probably asking how to obtain the software version without going to the dealer...

True. I was looking to see if the Bavarian Technic cable and software combo will be able to retrieve this data.

I do understand that without the BT tool, that there is no way to confirm the s/w version without going to the dealer.

But I would think that with the BT tool and software, that we can find out. For what it's worth... I have the BT tool. Each 'module' retrieves all sorts of interesting "versions" from the car, but it's not clear to me if any of those are really referring to the overall s/w build (i.e. 2.37.2, etc).
