Radar Detector Usage in VA

Does anyone here regularly use a radar detector in Virginia and/or DC? As they are illegal to use in those areas, I was wondering how good the high-end models (i.e. Escort Redline) are immune to VG-2 and Spectre radar detector detection.

Redline and the Bell STi-R are supposed to be undetectable by those. I would be more worried about them visually identifying those things on your windshield as you drive by. I would think that mounting them high up would help a little.
