Sealant or wax or both?
I have always been a fan of a good wax. I have used Pinnacle Souveran with great results on by black 328 xDrive. I can't imagine a better result. However, the wax needs to be re-applied every 4-6 weeks and I am giving thought to trying a sealant. I have questions in this regard. Will a sealant give my ride the same deep liquid shine I have gotten used to? How long does a sealant last? Can a wax be applied over a sealant and, if so, would the finish be additionally enhanced by wax over sealant? Thanks. Rick

Sealant will last longer, 3 to 6 months in most cases I believe if you buy the good stuff. However, in my experience the look is nowhere near the look of a good wax. For this reason, I use wax in the summer and then a few coats of sealant just before winter. You can apply a wax over the sealant but I don't know how much better it will look than just with the wax by itself.

Yes, I would suggest applying Pinnacle over a sealant. You may want to try an grab some Wolfgang Sealant. Great deep gloss and looks very deep and wet on black

Thanks for the reply. I will consider Wolfgang sealant. I had been under the (mistaken?) impression that wax might not bond to a sealant treated vehicle. Wolfgang sealant certainly reads like the product I've been looking for and it does say that you can apply wax over top of it. Anyone else have experience with Wolfgang sealant or have another sealant to recommend. Rick

Most carnuaba waxes will bond to sealants. I am not sure about synthetics and polymer waxes.
Sealants will not bond to a wax.

I would highly reccomend some Blackfire Wet Diamond for your car. It's awesome (especially for the darker colors) and gives you a great shine and great protection. Top that with the Souveran and you'll be golden - doesn't get much better than that.
