newbie question re daytime running lights

Hi

I recently bought my first BMW, a 2006 325i M Sport. I am in love with it. However, I expected the daytime running lights (ie, lights on 1-click, before the low beams) to illuminate as the "rings" I see on lots of other BMWs ... I thought this was standard fare on most modern BMWs? Or does this only happen with Xenon headlights (which I don't have). When the DRL's are on the lights come on but there is just the 1 bulb which lights up -- not in a "ring" formation.

Excuse my ignorance -- as I said its my first BMW :-)

Any info?

I have Xenons and my Angel Eyes aren't illuminated on DRLs. They illuminate when I turn on the parking lights, but so do the "side" bulbs, so it isn't just the Angel Eyes. (2006 325i)

The first part I believe is correct but the latter is not. i have a 2009 E90 328w/ halogens and w/o idrive. If you turn off the DRLs (see manual) and put the parking lights on the ambers and rings will light up.

Angel eye DRLs are only in these models:

E90/E91 LCI (2009+) - with xenons.
E92/E93 (2009+) - all, xenons are standard.

In the E90 LCI without xenons, you can use the method described by sickem above. Other than that, you'll need some sort of aftermarket solution (there are many out there) if you want this.
