How do you dust your car?

What do you use? I just washed my dad's black car, and it was dusty in 5 seconds. I dusted it with a "duster" and it has marring all over the place! What should I use?

if it's dusty in 5 seconds, what makes you think it won't be dusty in another 5 seconds after you dust it?

anyway, some people swear by the california car duster (read posts on instructions/tips for usage). however, having dust on a black car is just part of having a black car. i personally would never dust. if i need to clean up a spot, i use a quick detailer and a clean microfiber. but there's no point using it for dust, as it'll just be dusty in another 5 seconds.

i would ignore it, it's most likely just pollen. It'll just keep returning, nothing you can do but wait for pollen time to be over

+100000 don't use a duster on your car! It will mark the hell out of it. Wash it when you can but avoid the duster unless you want to do paint correction every year. Just my .02

I use my garden blower (120 mph blower, the electric one) to remove the dust from my car. Works good.

You can buy 1,000 cans of Air Duster (for your computer keyboard) to remove the dust from your car??

California Duster. I've used one of these for years with no ill effects. I use it only when I have a nice coat of wax on and only when it's light dust or pollen. If the dust has been sprinkled on or dew has cause it to "get a grip" then it's time to wash. A light touch and a California Duster that has been taken care of works well. As long as it doesn't rain, and since I garage my vehicle, I can keep my car looking just washed for days on end - all it takes is a quick 2-3 minute dusting when I get home. Having a TiAg paint job also helps...a lot...

+1. California Duster. It does help to have a lighter metallic color though... I have Arctic Silver (A34). But, it does work, and I never have smears or mars. Been using them for years. Hope this helps.

The detailing maestro comes in with the save of the day.....haha. I gotta get me some of that stuff Jopa.

FWIW I just let it build up and wash it once a week or so, just at the car was even if its just a quick wash. In my experience its too easy to scratch it or swirl it any other way.
