Want to get my car clear bra'd but there are swirls!

I have some light swirling all over the car. It is Black Sapphire Metallic so this was to be expected. Is it generally recommended to get the car polished before a clear bra is applied? Can you even see the swirls under a clear bra? The last thing I would want is to have the swirls visibly permanant under the clear bra.

get a good detailer who can polish the clearcoat (1 stage or possibly 2 stages if the swirls are bad)... then apply the clear bra...

Agreed with the above - get it detailed correctly first. And be sure whoever you take it to actually does a good job before proceeding with the clear bra. My advice would be to wait a week or so after the detail to be sure you're happy with the result.
