1957 Porsche speedster...

Well, I will do a short little thread about a car I recently worked on...too bad its a replica!

This is for an unsuspecting owner (hopefully he is not on here LOL). I talked with a shop I will now be doing the detail work for and we decided it would be good to "hook up" this car with a proper detail. Lets just say, when I walked into the shop, I was thinking it was brown! I couldnt have been more wrong! The owner didnt have a car cover for it so it sits just like the rest of the cars without one! The owner of the shop washes and cleans the car, (read as will have me "detail" them( before getting the final inspection pass. Quality stuff coming from this shop!

Ill let the pics do the talking in this one...

105/pfw/1200
105/orange/spd 6
203/white/spd 6
85rd/black/spd 6
DWG/blue/spd 6
BFWD/blue/spd 5

still have to go back the day before the pick up for the wheels, tires, interior, windows! so keep in mind, those arent done...ran out of time (shop closed) and no sense in doing it twice! at that time, Ill get some paint correction shots!

Befores:

After shots...no sun, but there will be once I get through the rest of it in the next two weeks after the motor build. HELLO GLOSS!!!!

And the next couple of hopeful cars i get to dial in...the blue one for sure!

thats it for now...this is a teaser thread as far as afters go....

Arrow speedster

That's a beautiful replica nonetheless.

What a difference a bit of elbow grease can make.

Nice work there, that Porsche was hammer and the correction work you done shows the hard work you have put into it. Also don't forget the LSP Blackfire you use. Looks very wet!

yeah, I dont think the blackfire made as dramatic change as the danase wet glaze did! While working it in, the DWG melted into the paint and make it all look more "even" in a sense.

Will the DWG stay on the finish? or will it wash off later on after maybe 1-2 washes. Just wondering Eric.

DWG and BFWD will last on the paint, and will not wash off...both bond to the paint. unlike most glazes, dwg is top-able!
