Hit by a boot on the highway
So I was driving on the highway on Friday and a boot flew out of a construction truck and hit my front bumper. It's got several small cracks in it and some pretty epic scratches. I think I would prefer to just have it replaced by a brand new bumper rather than trying to repair the whole thing; is there a possibility that the insurance company would agree to this?

No hurt in trying for a replacement. What I've heard is that if you can get the info from the construction vehicle, they will pay for repairs. That's what I heard...a friend's brother chased down a dump truck driver and made him get out of the cab. And they paid to repaint his hood....

I had a chair fly off a truck and hit me. I wasn't able to chase the people down. Comprehensive will cover it, and deductibles are usually low with Comp. claims.

A very long and deep scratch that hurts my insides to look at
Well, I'm gonna try for a replacement. As for the construction company, they had a trailer attached to their pickup truck that blocked the plate number and the trailer didn't have a plate. However, it did say the name of the company on there so I hope I can use that in my favor somehow. |

You're probably SOL in getting them to pay for it at this point. The correct thing would have been to get the name and call the company right after it happened. Otherwise its basically just hearsay and you can be some random loon looking for free shit.

I got hit by a shovel that was laying in the middle of the highway. It got kicked up by the person to the right of me and about three car lengths in front. Had enough time to avoid a direct below but it smashed up my passenger side mirror and left a scratch on the side. The person just kept on driving. Make sure if you decide to claim it on your insurance that you let them know that it flew out of a moving vehicle and hit you. In that case, I believe they call it non comprehensible or something like that but you pay our deductible but it will not affect your rates.. Considering a new mirror and some paint work was going to cost 2k plus, it wasn't to bad. Plus I worked in one or two other small scratches on my front bumper that were on the same side.
