Oil Change

My oil change is due in 700 miles. Can I bring it in now and it would be cover under maintenance warranty?

Depends on the dealer. Irvine would not do mine when it was 900 miles away and I was between jobs for a week. Thought it wold be convenient for me and I could wait for it but instead I had to drop it off 2 weeks later and get a loaner.

I believe you will need to wait until the on board computer tells you that service is needed. Though you can call your dealer to verify. And yes, it will be covered under the maintenance warranty, assuming you have less than 50k miles.

Call your dealer to find out. My dealer will do the free oil change or inspection service if it's due in less than 1000 miles.

Not true, BMW authorizes dealers to do them within 1000 miles, or once per year if mileage driven per year is low. On the once per year they will allow a 30 day grace period. I last had an oil change on April 20th , 2009, am not due for one for another 3,000 miles, but had one done today within the 30 day grace/1 per year rule. My free maintenance is about to expire, so it was a no-brainer for me to do that. If your dealer is telling you different call corporate.

I just called Crevier BMW in Santa Ana. They said just bring it in, we'll take care of it.

I saw a dealer have an online special for $59.95. That's like $12 cheaper than what I paid when I paid for one at 1600. I wonder if they use synthetic at that price or not. It says M cars and more than 7 qts. costs extra.
