e90 328i stock vs. 370z stock

In just a simple quarter mile race, how badly will the 328i lose by?

Friend got a 370z stock and finally got it broken in and wants to give it a go. He gave me a ride in it today, and wow...I must say...it really feels like a sports car and it's FASTTT.

Badly. 370z is as fast if not faster than a 335 depending on driver, get into the twisties and there is no contest. But on the bright side your interior is much nicer =)

Btw I'm a modded 335 vert and I'm pretty much on par with a 370, only a little different.
A 328 will get murdered

Yeah the 370z will destroy a 328. A 370z is about as fast as a 335i.

Good drivers.....370Z could run a mid 13......328 may hit high 14.......you would be very lucky to be within a second in the 1/4 mile probably closer to 1.5 seconds slower. And that is embarrassing. He would leave you at any speed on the street. It would look as bad or worse than you running a 335....have you driven a 335 yet? I had a few as loaners and my 325 felt pretty slow...actually really slow.

Race only if you want to lose....badly. Your 328 was never intended to go up against a Z. The Z is a no comprimise, raw sports car.

PS...does your buddy's Z have the throttle matching feature on downshifts? If so, how well does it work? I'm dying to try this out.

just say that he has a nice car and he'll say you have a nice car. Compliment each other, there's no point of arguing.

The z4 3.5 might be a closer match because of the body type, and my bet is that 370z would get destroyed by the z4.

Even if you lose though, its still a nissan.

A stock 328i would lose BAD, especially an auto one BUT your Bimmer would still look good as hell getting smoked.

A few bus lengths.

No need to waste the gas. 328 is not built for speed. In the luxury department the 328 shines!

The Z has 100 more HP and weighs less. It's going to smoke a 328i.

once again were back to what would smoke what.. at the end of the day a spotty kid driving a Honda Civic Turbonator would smoke even 335's, but so what?? who at the end of the day is driving the BMW? the 370 dude may have a more powerful car but at the end of the day yes its still a damn Nissan..... I have a 1981 Mk1 Golf GTI with a supercharged VR6 engine sitting in my garage which smokes virtually anything due to the balls out power to weight ratio.. but I dont compare myself to Beemers and Benzes because its not a comparison... you drive what you pay for, and the quality and class is what counts.

Thats cause his 335 is a vert, the obese version of the 335's.

There's nothing wrong with obesity. Just ask the people at the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance (NAAFA).
