plz help..urgent!Car won't start!
Car: 2007 335i
Long story short: Check engine light came on after hard driving, pulled over and restarted the car, but it wouldn’t start up, just long crank, scanned with BT, got the following VANOS codes: 2A85 2A9A 2A98 2A99 3100 Towed it to my friends garage, replaced the vanos solenoids, still couldn’t get it started, so took the car in to the stealer, first they said it was the CAS, I was like are you sure? If the CASs dead, I wouldn’t even able to lock the steering wheel to get the car towed, but they said the CAS must have to be replaced before going further diagnosis, so I took them up on that, took a couple days to order/replace it, car could start up again but then they said the HPFPs dead, and wanted to charge me a premium to replace it, I was like wtf and decided to take the car out to do the replacement. So the next day, I went in to pick up the car, but then the SA told me car couldn’t start up, CASs dead AGAIN, and they are still trying figure out what the problem is… Anyone has had similar problem? Any suggestion? |

wow I've been experienced with vanos things, but my car used to start normaly, when i used to speed at high RPMs engine faulty reducing power used to show up... But never had the problem that my car won't start, weird, take it to the dealer, I got my camshaft, my cam bearing ledges, my vanos even replaced, but not on both sides just the exhaust side. I was out of warranty so it costed me arround 4k USD. good luck.

updates:
they found that the engine timing was off, replaced the crankshaft center hex bolt, reset the engine timing, car ran fine again.... for half day, the next day after I picked up the car, limp mode again, same vanos codes! luckily this time car could start up, just long cranks and limp all the time. drove it back to the dealer and told them it could be the camshaft bearing ledge, I also showed them the tis 110208, so they opened up the engine and found the grooves on the ledges, not deep though(maybe 0.5mm), now waiting for the parts to come in. hopefully it really is the problem! |

STFU troll. If you don't have a constructive advice then just don't post. These kids behind the computers just open that yap.
OP plz give an update as soon as have any news. I've been very interested in the whole VANOS and cam sensor problems associated with N54.GL. |
