squeaky roof e93

Recently, I noticed that my roof on the driver side makes rattling noises when it goes over small bumps (like reflective markers on the road). Also I noticed that when I put up the roof, it squeaks as if it needs lubrication. Does anyone know how to lubricate the roof joints? Or should I take it to the dealership?

Mine has a squeaky roof as well, and after I complained about it, the dealership decided to lubricate the rubbers.

Next visit I complained again, because it was still squeaky. They then said that after they contacted BMW Netherlands, they were told to never lubricate!

On 8th April it will be at the dealership again and probably I will get new rubbers because the "teflon" top layer was worn through... (Mine is an '07 with about 55.000 km on the odometer, but roof is used a lot!!)

So before you let the dealer mess around with it, make sure the check with BMW NA what to do about it!

(Alternative solution: don't close the roof anymore, summer is coming anyway! )

i have a piggy back. If i take it in to the dealership for roof problems, do you know if they read the codes. I always wondered if the dealership reads the codes from the key fob or the OBDII.
