Thinking about selling my 335i
Been seeing a lot of treads about people looking for something new. I've been in my e92 335i since Sept 2006 and I'm starting to feel the "new car fever" coming on.
My requirements have changed since I purchased my e92 so the basics are. 1. Needs to be front wheel or all wheel drive (for bad weather). 2. needs 4 doors (for kids). 3. don't want to spend more then 50,000K. Ideally, I would like to get a new F10 535xi, but they will not be out till the end of the year and the cost will be more then I'm looking to spend. I was thinking 61,000+k. Next on my list is a Audi S4. It's around 50k and has everything I'm looking for. This is what I'm leaning towards. Next would be a g37 sedan. It would save me some money, but I'm not sure I really like it all that much. Next a 1 or 2 year old X5 or X6. Yes I know, It's a SUV.. Problem is I would need to get the big engine and the thing really isn't all that great on gas. My last option would be a new 335xi e90. Problem with this is that it's too similar to what I have know and the new model will not be out till 2012+. The point of this post is to see what other 335i owners are going to do for their next ride. |

sounds like the S4 is the only one that makes any real sense.

im waiting for the next m3, maybe the rs5 if they bring it to the states (and it doesn't cost too much more than the m3)
As for OP, the s4 is a great car and would be something different, I would def not go for the G37 imo. If you are going for 4 doors it looks like the s4 is your best choice...

I think it's going to be hard to beat the S4. As much as I would like the new F10 535xi. It's just going to be too much money. More of a sociological price point.
Can anyone else think of anything else I should consider? |

I too am waiting to see what is in store for the next gen M3, assuming my car lasts that long! Nothing out there right now really is telling me I have to buy it. The S4 is nice, and I may get one at some point, but I don't want to give up my 335 for it!

well, you have a beautiful car now that is still not outdated. wait for it to be replaced, because if you buy a 2011 335i, in one year, the new models will be coming out. so, you'll only be able to enjoy your "new car feel" for about 1 or 2 years, after which, you will feel like your driving an old model. if nothing is wrong with your car, and you have some extra cash, waiting will only be a means to increase the budget!

If you're honestly to the point where you can't wait, I'd buy the s4.

I thought the boom would give away the sarcasm... guess not. Anyways I wouldn't go with any of those on the list. There's nothing out right now (that I can afford) that would make me want to trade my 335 for. Don't really care much for SUV unless it's a second car. The G37 and S5 are nice, but not really much of an upgrade IMO. The new 5 looks intriguing but would need to know more about it and see it in person. The only thing that kinda gets me excited would be an M3, but I don't really want to feed a V8 and I'm kinda waiting for the next version of the M3. So right now I would stick with my 335 until something better comes out.

Have you guys seen the new X50i with the V8TT? Damn that thing looks nice... Or even the E91 but they don't offer the 335 version in NA? I would honestly run a JB3 tune and get a LSD before selling my car to buy any of the afformentioned. In your case since you're selling for sure get an X5 but if you're really concerned about gas then a 335xi or a S4. |

Audi S4
That is what I did. Got my S4 2 weeks ago. It's great! I just returned my E92 335i yesterday after a 3 year lease :-/. AWD + Sports Differential + 333hp Supercharged Engine + 7-Speed Dual Clutch transmission = FUN. I loved my 335 but I wanted to get something different. E90 is just too outdated for me at this point.

Trade up with a sedan (xi maybe) of the same mileage and wait until the next 3-series generation is released...
