Teamsters picket Annacis Auto Terminal

For those of you in the Vancouver area expecting delivery of a new BMW this month, you might want to check with your dealer. Since last Thursday, the Teamsters have been picketing Annacis Island. This labour dispute has resulted in no trains coming into or leaving Annacis and no auto transport trucks leaving as well.

I was told my bimmer has arrived on Annacis Island! I've never been a fan of unions, and this won't help changing my view of them. Thx for the info.

btw - True bimmers come thru eastcoast but transported to westcoast by rail. Annacis Island is the depot.

I just took delivery of my '07 328i sedan today! I kept following with the dealer and they sent a truck to Annacis Island pick it up.

Work around the problem (aka unions) and find a way to deliver the car! Now that's custom service!

Thanks. Our dealer saids the new cars may now be shipped to the Okanagons and then down to the Lower Mainland. In any case, shouldn't be too much longer.... hang in there!

I also heard that the strike is over... my CA told me. It was over as of yesterday afternoon.

But the wait continues for anyone with a car still sitting in Halifax (like me). CA told me could take 3+ weeks to get out here.

You're lucky if yours is arriving on the 20th.

As I mentioned earlier, my CA said it may take 3 or more weeks to ship my car from Halifax to Vancouver. So I anticipate I won't be getting mine until very late Nov. or even early Dec.

that sucks but i don't know i called the park shore dealership today and asked how long would it take from edmonton to vancouver and the dealer estimated it around max to be 1 week. Oh well i should be able to wait out another 11 days. Are you going to try to get anything extra when you get the car for the long wait?
