Keep getting same codes w/ procede.

I keep getting these same codes. Always at the end of 3rd gear just before shift. Afterwards CEL comes on and car runs like shit. I actually have a datalog of one event which I'll post later if need be. I'm running a Rev. 1 V3 on stage 1 nondoomsday new maps and firmware (7-29) and DCI.

Fuel Pump? or Boost Leak? Check Intercooler hoses and your charge pipe....Maybe even just change sparkplugs to remove that variable

Good Luck!

I get misfire codes on stage 1 procede if I shift too close to redline.

Just cylinders 5 & 6 though - but goes directly into limp mode.

I just bumped my upshift softening from 5 to 10, as I read that helped some members avoid the misfires....but I haven't tried shifting out to redline yet.

Wonder how much the fuel pump is contributing to this problem? It's kind of frustrating to get the jump on someone and then immediately hit limp mode on the gear shift.

If you guys are getting misfire near readline, the first thing you should do is reduce user torque by say 20% to see if it goes away. If it does, then it's time to change spark plugs. If it doesn't, then we are probably looking at a fuel pump issue.

I'm pretty sure the misfire codes are being thrown after the car goes into limp mode. I'll have the techs dig deeper next time i throw the codes. BTW my car was scanned today at a BMW Dealership with the procede still installed. ISIS was none the wiser.

I'm pretty sure that the limp is being caused by the misfire. I've seen this before with 6ats as they put more stress on the ignition system during the upshift process. I'd bet that either reducing the boost or replacing the spark plugs will fix the problem.

well since I don't want to loose boost I guess I'll throw in some plugs and see what happens.

Yah...I was suspecting it's the fuel pump.

That's great to hear!

So now I know how to get them to replace it - lol.
Invoke the misfire codes and take it in.

I don't know if that would work. I pulled a few strings to get my pump replaced.

Do share.....the dealers seem reluctant to swap them just for long cranks.

You seem to need the fuel pump code!

But I think you and Shiv may be right - some marginal pumps may be contributing to misfires.

I gave the technician cookies. No lie

He also found the pump was putting out pressure below spec. I think that was the winner. Cookies were to get him to do it that day instead of waiting till tuesday

So I replaced the spark plugs on Sat. Car felt a little bit stronger, but not by much. Sun. Got the same CEL and while shifting from 3rd to 4th again. This time though I shifted at 6500. Scanned it today and got misfire in cylinder 6 and low charge air pressure codes. Do I need to modify ignition advance or some other perameter? This is a data log from when the CEL came on a week or so ago. I also seem to be loosing boost but have no leaks ??
