Wink 07 335i 50,000 Mile Review

Ok folks, so my 07 AW 335i AT, Sport, Premium, Cold Weather has hit the 50k mark and I wanted to share my thoughts and experiences.

Exterior: I have clayed and waxed the car three times since I got it February of 2007. The paint has some chips and scratches, but overall has held up well. I wash the car weekly and sometimes I just spray some Zaino Z8 and it looks good!

My only gripe on the exterior of the car is the grille! OMG BMW could have done better job on the grille! but hey, once I get inside its all good! lol

Runflats were replaced at 24k with PS2s and they are much better at handling the wonderful potholes of NYC. I mean those suckers can mess up a car with one good hit!

I was recently told that my rims are bent, so I now have to look at some solutions to that problem.

Interior: The interior has held up well. Had the drivers side arm rest replaced under warranty because the material by the door handle was peeling. Rattles are minimal, so the car is very well built.

The seats remain in very good condition, as I use Zaino Leather in Bottle monthly and it has maintained the leather well. My "Ubberpup", Max ( He is a Shiba Inu for you dog lovers) rides with me all the time and no marks on the leather, so the leather is tough!

Performance:

Performance...yes the performance remains spectacular! The car accelerates fast and handles extremely well! (although I think that they could have tightened the suspension just a tad bit more) I have not noticed any diminishing in the performance, although I am sure that JB2 would only enhance it. :-)

Issues:

HPFP went at 11K. I have been on the current one now for 39k miles. With few exceptions, I always fill up with Shell. Prior to the HPFP going I would gas up with BP and Exxon.

The dreaded chirping from the brakes continues. After taking the car in four times for this issue, I had the brakes replaced once and it went away for about 5k miles and it has returned. They said that it was the brake sensor. I have given up on that issue.

I have had the sunroof fixed twice for minor rattles

Bushings in the front suspension replaced

Window actuators all replaced due to some sort of electrical malfunction, which when acted up did not allow me to open the cars doors unless I used the key in the fob.

Conclusion:
I have spent a alot of time at the dealer getting stuff fixed, and I think I have test driven different cars 10-12 cars while it has been in the shop but at 50K I still love my Bimmer and all its issues! I know its a long post! Next review will hopefully be at 75K. Thanks all!

Production Date for my car is 9/06. I got it used with 2486 miles. I drove down to Ottos BMW in West Chester PA. They had it on inventory and when I called (on a Saturday) was told that it had been sold. Got a call back about three hours later that the people had backed out!!! Drove down the same day and got it the next tuesday. Needless to say I had such a ball driving back home that day. BTW, my previous car was an E90 330i. Nice car too!

What symptoms did you have that required the front bushings to be replaced?

Doesn't sound like the problems are inherent in the car.

Thanks! They supposedly calm way down by the age of three! Max is 9 months and is a handful, but he loves running and has calmed down quite a bit compared to when he was 4-5 months! Hey, do you know at what point do shiba inus reach their full height and weight?

Mine stopped growing at age 8 months... He was 21 pounds, since then he has been filling it a little bit.. He is maybe 23-24 punds now which is the ideal weight for a male adult.

They are picky eaters too, make sure you feed him quality food with no fillers... Any food with corn at the top of the ingridients list is junk...

Stick to Natural Balance, Nutro, Royal Canin, Solid Gold or my favorite Wellness

"Interior: The interior has held up well. Had the drivers side arm rest replaced under warranty because the material by the door handle was peeling. Rattles are minimal, so the car is very well built"

I thought the drivers side arm rest (left arm) on these cars were all one piece that is connected to the interior door panel as a whole. My in wearing also. If this is a separate peice does anyone know the part number.
