09 335i Long cranks
Bummer
Had my first 2 long cranks today. Something I find interesting is that I've only used Amoco Ultimate until my last fillup. I used Shell Power V. Has me wondering. Question: Should I take it to the dealer now, or wait to see if it keep happening? LJS330i |

I think the Shell gas is a coincedence.I'd bring mine in after I get a few long cranks if and when it happens..
From what I've read, that's usually one sign of the pump starting to fail. |

I use Shell V as well, started getting long cranks only in the morning after the car sat all night. Once warmed up it would start fine throughout the day. Made me think it was a fuel pressure thing but sure enough it was HPFP. I did get 2 engine lights while driving that turned by itself. BTW pump died with 38,000kms on the odo so it's not the type of gas.

Died
Got the engine light when I went out to lunch, then the dread "limp mode". Guess I'll be bringing her to the dealer. I really wish BMW had this problem solved. It has to be costing them craploads of money in warranty claims.

Just tells us that it's cheaper to do the warranty work than fix the problem. |

This sucks.
I have long occasional long cranks as well, but haven't had CEL light yet. Fingers crossed. |

I took it to the dealer after a couple or maybe three long cranks and immediately they changed my HPFP.

One thing I really noticed about the way these Bimmers start is it's not very consistent at all! Sometimes It starts really fast, sometimes takes longer. Sometimes the engine makes a chattery clunky nose when I turn it off. There's not necessarily anything WRONG with the car, that's just the way it is...
And I know I have a 330 and not a 335 but it seems like everyone has these issues...
