What is a justifiable amount for a 6 window tint?

I am planning on tinting my windows about 30-35% all around, and about 80% on the windshield.

I have gotten quotes in many different ranges and I was wondering what was a fair price...

For nano-ceramic, I was quoted at $450

for 'regular tint' (i.e. I think metallic but not sure...) I can get it for about $200, or 120 excluding the windshield. I can probably bring it even lower, to about $90 (excluding windshield) if I take 3 cars with me.
I say 'regular' because this is the same tint that is on my cousin's 335i, my brother's previous benz, and several of my friends' cars; and they have no idea what kind of film was used...

I am mainly curious as to what other members have paid for their tints; and if they know what kind of film was used, that added information would be great.

Thanks.

I've got 35% Ceramic Tint on all but windshield and paid $180. When you mean windshield, do you mean having a tint strip or having the whole windshield tinted? I would stay away from metallic tint. I had it on my old car and I had trouble with my GPS Navigation.

Yeah I want ceramic vs metalic.

I mean the whole windshield, not just the strip

Doesn't the shark fin control navi etc?

If so, why would tint film matter?

Metallic Tint sometimes affects those portable GPS Systems, I had it in my old MINI Cooper S, not on my current BMW.

Why would you want to have your windshield tinted? I would assume CA is more strict on tint than MN.

Kind of asking for it here in Cali, they're strict.

$120 from babyshaq may be worth the drive, that's a very good price. I got mine for 200, no windshield tint.

here on the east coast, i had the 5 windows done, ceramic 37% finished all around, $175.
35% finished darkness per window is legal here, so i'm right above the bubble. windshield untouched. you really don't want it to dark. makes it tough to see well at night. to much gangsta look.

yea me and spy deputy probably got ours done at the same place; but I got ceramic 30% all around with nothing on the windshield for 200. try to find a place with a guarantee. I'm a little past legal, and if I get pulled over and have to take it off, they'll take it off for me to get my inspection, then put it back on, all for free.

Same as the others
top line ceramic on all but the windshield (which I would never do anyway, but especially not in CA) and paid $200

For F1 Pinnacle around here on a sedan, it's around $400-450 IIRC. That doesn't include windshield. Metallic is much less expensive.

F1 Pinnacle 35% looks great IMO, very neutral and just the right amount of shade, not too dark and not too light.

I also did the F1 Pinnacle. It was around $350 for me, tax included. No windshield.

Why would you want to have your windshield tinted? I would assume CA is more strict on tint than MN.
So would metalic than not matter in a BMW?

Any tint is illegal I'm CA... But if you're not too dark try sometimes don't care

I want the windshield tinted to help with the So Cal heat...
80% isn't too dark so you won't notice it. My friend has 70% and it's fine TBH, but I'd rather go a little higher.

Thanks for all the responses.

Was that 120 for ceramic film?

The most you should ever pay for tint is $200. Anything higher than that is a rip off for no reason.

I'm from norcal and in my last car I had the back windows at 30%, front windows at 80%. I was pulled over 3 times and just paid it the first 2 times but the third ticket was $800 so I just took it off.

I have noticed (just from anecdotal stories from friends) that the cops are pulling you over for more stupid shit. One of my friends had a cop give him a ticket (while he was parked) for not having a front license plate...

I suspect it has something to do with the budget deficit
