To the DEALER we go again

I just left My 2007 335i Coupe with 37k miles at the dealership for some small stuff ( Radio, peeling trim etc)

They gave my a 2008 335i Sedan With 12k miles and theirs a noticeable difference between the two..

The loaner car engine feels much more smoother, at idle its smooth unlike my car ( car sometimes has vibrates), After driving this car i feel as if my engine is dirty or something, What could it be?

Ill tell my SA and see what shes says but untill then i just wanted some opinions

I also have another question, my trim is also peeling where i have circled in the pic, will that be replaced under warranty? Or would it be a wear and tear item

Have you ever replaced your air filter and your spark plugs? Ask the dealer if there is a software update for the ECU.

I felt the same way when i got a sedan loaner...it was very smooth especially at idle.

i'm getting my car's sparks replaced next monday, we'll see how the car idles after that.

they should replace it under warranty. i have a similar trim issue but its near the passenger side seat belt arm.

what dealer did you go to?

Is that automatically done with the free maintenance plan or do you have to ask for the change?

Every single one of them is quieter than my car. Quieter in the sense that they do not have squeaks and rattles and they are way smoother on the road. Granted, my car has 18s and the 328s have 17s but does it really make that much of a difference?

I got my fuel injectors flushed and that improved my performance and smoothed out the engine idle... Get this... Ive been using Shell V-Power (93) for 1.5 years consistently. I still got alot of gunk buildup on my fuel injectors. So what is my "nitrogen-enriched" gas doing?

Did the dealer do it? How much was it?

ak335...i'm bringing mine in on Monday for a bunch of things, I'm 50/50 at telling them about the peeling near the seat belt arm because they would have to replace that whole panel and I'd rather have a small discoloration than a misaligned or squeaky panel.

you should switch up your fuels. each company uses different detergents. repeated use of the same detergent will cause build up. using different but high quality brand gas will help alleviate some of this build up.

Yeah, I've learned that now. I am going to be running a Shell/Sunoco/Chevron rotation now.

Unfortunately the dealer got me for $170 on this one. I asked if I could just use some STP over time but they claimed they do a full flush of the system where the STP just burns what it can and does not gaurantee getting rid of heavy buildup. I believe this because the car does feel different (not just placebo effect). Acceleration is smoother and engine vibration has decreased substantially. Now I just need an alignment

I have peeling there from the previous owners fingernails and i also have the peeling on the console from what i believe was the seat belt buckle hitting the console when the prev owner wasnt paying attention while inserting the buckle...

guess i should mention that to the dealer then huh! i love me some free stuff!
