all of them would fit in an e90. its just a matter of how much $$$$ ur willing to spend. u can even fit a damn m5 engine in there if u got the $$$ to spend

I would spend a little more and get a junk yard special on a N54 engine and swap it into that instead of of the 325 or 330 engine....

No expert, but N52 would be much easier than N54. I just imagine the extra work that will go into turbo.

I don't know if the block on the 320i is similar to the 325/330i, but for what it's worth, Evosport swapped a 330i head onto a 325i block. Didn't get too much into the details while I was there, but I think I remember hearing that they also swapped the ECU as well.

might be cheaper to just get a second hand car with the right engine...

Before plunging in, I would do a cost analysis of the TOTAL cost of engine swap, including labor and unexpected parts VS the cost of selling the car with mods (if any) and just get a used 330i or 335i.

Example:
engine swap + parts = $10K
kbb of car = $15K
used 330i = $25K

If you can sell for 15K and engine swap would total 10K, I would rather just spend 25K on a used 330i.

Just giving you ideas here. Good luck!

thanks .. well i am not from the uk but i bought my 320 there and now it is in my country (trinidad) i took the 320i because of the tax in my country anything higher than 1997cc is alot of money for tax!! so my plan was to buy a 320 and get a salvaged m3 or 335 or something and get the internals from it..and pay the 100$$ tt fee which is like 10 pounds or sumtn for swapping engines.. another question i had is would an engine from a left hand drive car work? because i saw better deals with salvaged vehicles in the states than uk and also a wider variety..i could stuff the biggest engine in my car now without stress because if i were to buy a m3 or even a 335 my engine tax alone would be almost $200,000 tt .. i saw a salvaged m5 for less than 8,000 us considering this .. and also 335's from like 4000us to 7000 us .. with running engines and gr8 interior parts..when i start this project i would be posting pics and progress...i jus wish somene would crash there m3 and sell it to me for small money...

in terms of electronics would it just be ecu to change ? or would the car need reprogramming or something?
