Low fuel pressure sensor or hpfp failure help!?
Hey guys
I have a 2007 e92 with 53k miles and my car is having long cranks in the morning and after 8 hours of work. I brought my car to the dealership and they said the low fuel pressure sensor is messed up and they're blaming it on my bms dual cone intake. it doesn't really matter because I'm out of warranty but they want $500 to replace it. I believe it is the high pressure fuel pump giving up which has an extended warranty due to it's problems. I think the sensor is only $70 and it's easy to replace but it'll be a waste of money if the problem is the hpfp. Anyone have the same problem or any suggestions? Thanks

While the HPFP is the likely culprit, there is no way for you to know for sure. If you do not trust what they are telling you then take it to another shop to get checked....

They might just be saying that the BMS filters are causing the "low pressure sensor", Remember your fuel pump is warrantied till 100K so that can give them an excuse to not change your HPFP.

It's regarding that sensor and the HPFP.

I had the exact same symtoms, the car would only have long cranks in the morning but was fine once warmed up. However the culprit was still the HPFP, had it replaced and all is back to normal. HTH
