I just got the new maps and firmware via email as well. Can't wait to leave work and upload them.

Shiv - I also have the RIX vent boost gauge and was wondering if one will conflict with the other?

That's certainly easy to implement. My concern is that it will be more complicated to use.

I'm a poor ninja... you nabbed my reply before I could edit...

I was just trying to think of something that would let you enter/exit select mode fast, and bang through the map numbers fast.

Ideally I think this would work fastest :

Pres DTC and LOCK to enter map select mode
Press DTC button N times (1 press for map 1, 5 presses for map 5, etc)
press DTC and LOCK to save selected map

(holding DTC down (or pressing lock) would exit the select process without changing maps)

You have no speed-limited actions.
So you can bang through the menu as fast as your can move your fingers. (other than the hold to exit).

I removed that suggestion because it would be 'working' the lock mechanism... wearing it out for no reason.

So I replaced 'press LOCK and DTC' with 'double click DTC'.

But then I thought that you would need to press DTC slowly to select the map, otherwise it would think you are double clicking to finish...

Then I thought :

double click DTC to enter map select mode
Press DTC button N times (1 press for map 1, 5 presses for map 5, etc)
press and hold DTC to save selected map

But then I couldn't think of a good way to 'exit' the selection process if you decide to not select anything... (well, you could just have a time-out that will exit select mode with no changes, if DTC is not pressed in X seconds)

So I can't think of a good way to do it...

Hence why I decided the way it is is fine.

Watching this video, I am wondering if you can place the procede into valet mode via the DTC switch now regardless of whether you have selected it to be on in the user options?

yep, i have valet disabled in the software since i never have a use for it. But you can activate it via the dash just in case you really need it for some reason.

Thanks for clarifying guys!

I currently use my homelink mirror buttons to switch maps but that doesn't allow you to access valet mode unless you set up one of your maps for 10% UT.

Nice to have valet mode available via the DTC switch now!

Neat stuff.

Yeah its great for when you have no choice but to park your car with an garage attendant and want to immediately turn the car to valet which allow them only drive the car away going no more than 20mph!!! lol

The new maps and firmware are great. I set map 1 throttle response to '2' and it feels just as responsive as setting '5' did on the 7-29 maps. I have map 2 set to '5' and it just takes off. The ability to go into valet whenever you need to is great too. I can't wait to get the rest of my mods on.

Will there be any way to allow your keychain to act as a dash switch on/off instead now?

I'm thinking that one of the beautiful parts of this piggy is that if you give your car to a valet, they cant turn it into fast mode , or to your family member...

but if its as easy as tapping the DTC button a few times, you never know what smart valet you meet...

maybe you could make the keychain on/off act as a dashboard on/off switch?

+1

One question about this new feature. When you are selecting the valet mode with the DTC button we see a long blink but if we stop and start the car after will it be as before which was no blink at all?

Loaded it up last night as well and played around with it on the way into the office this morning. This is pretty slick, though jp could probably hit the button a bit slower.

It is convenient enough that I am considering defaulting to valet mode and then use the DTC button when needed. The problem with switching to valet mode when approaching a valet is the car return. Sure, as they drive off it will be in valet mode. But when they return with the vehicle or need to move it, once restarted it will be back at the default map.

HAHAAA..........Good Point.

I guess this will only bother those who don't enable Valet Mode.
Another plus is, you will not have to continually remember to put it in Valet mode when handing them the keys.

Some people obviously will never enable Valet Mode because they want to load a Map instead, so this feature has really become useless to them. Having them switch to valet mode once the ignition is turned on or whilst driving, is useless once the car is turned off and then restarted.

For those of us with old school program of 27.XX the lag was very minimal before, will this new lagfix2 make it that much more better than the original lagfix? This is will be tested when Shiv sends me the new map....I have the old program and there was little to almost no lag, so I am very interested to see what this new improved lagfix2 will do..l
