Unhappy Strange Engine Code, 02 Sensor?

So I have an 09 335i, with 6000kms on it and JB3 1.4 Beta

I am running Map 7, and just got a weird check engine light, when checked on the Bavarian Technic Scanner, it shows the following code:

2C3F

Code:
2C3F:

2C3F DME, internal error: Lambda probe, evaluation component

Error will cause a warning light

Error is currently present

Test conditions have been completed

Short circuit or signal interruption

I got the same code last week. Figured it was just a hiccup and erased it and it hasn't come back. But now that you mention ur also testing 1.4 beta, it's gotta be something with the software.

I would just clear the code and see if it comes back. From the sound of it, it is an issue with the beta software.

It's been cleared for the third time. Two times it came back with Map 7, now I am on Map 0 and it has not yet. So yes, beta software issue it seems.

FWIW I checked with BMS and nothing was changed in the firmware or fuel enrichment side. So it likely isn't related to the beta software. If you can easily recreate it go back to 1.3 to see if it triggers with that. If you still have a G1 board it could be related to that. Check the sticky on BMS' forum for info on how to update it.

I have the newest version of the board. 1.3 does not recreate the problem, I have tried it. it only does it in Map 7 of 1.4 Beta...

When you download the maps it says "Please keep in mind these are beta maps and to participate in beta testing any issues or concerns must be emailed to me @ terenceburger@gmail.com."

So your best bet might be to talk to BMS directly, but from what I was told there is nothing in 1.4 beta that is different than 1.3 as far as oxygen sensor management is concerned. I also haven't seen that reported by any of my ~30 customers testing BETA_9A7_R6.

If you have downpipes/sims, etc, I would suspect a physical o2 sensor issue.

I am not sure why exactly you are being so defensive and automatically shutting down the possibility of this being a map issue? I understand its a Beta, I am looking at either improving the beta or figuring out a solution to the problem. It doesn't do it with 1.3 Map 7, but it does it with 1.4 Map 7, clearly its a map problem. It seems counter productive to automatically shut down the suspicion of it being a map problem when the software is in beta.

I'm just trying to help you find the problem! There doesn't seem to be a plausible way for the software to cause this code, but it could also be a wiring or harness issue I suppose. Does the code crop up soon after deleting it? If so switch back to 1.3 and see if you can recreate. Either way I'm at the limit of my ability to help, so if you need further help contact BMS.

n54tech.com is a much better place to discuss JB3 stuff, ESPICALLY beta stuff..

Definitely sign up there and post up about this... It's terry's n54 and JB3 support board with lots of members.

You are 1000x better off going there to discuss JB3 issues, or even just general chat about burger tuning.

Yes, it crops up on 1.4. As I have stated above, I have switched back to 1.3 Map7, and the code is no longer present. How many people on the beta that you know of are running the latest software build from BMW? I have a 03/09 build date and its a LCI 335i..

I'm not sure. But as I told you before I randomly had that same code. I'm still running map 7 and after erasing it hasn't come back. Try out 1.4 map 7 again for a while and check it out. Might just be a couple of hiccups. Remember its still a beta version, even if they didn't change any of the values in the o2 controllers, could be a software issue.
