JB3/DCI installed

Im about 2 weeks late with this, but have been busy getting ready to leave for deployment. A few weeks ago i purchased the JB3 PnP from Mike after a few questions back n forth over PM. I ended up going with it and received it 3 days later. Install was very easy with the videos and got it installed in about 2 minutes.

First impressions on Map 3 is i noticed it pulled alot stronger thru the mid-upper range. The turbos are alot more noticable with the high pitched whine which made me grin from ear to ear. Decided im going to stick with map 3 as we only have 91 in socal and typical days where i live is in the upper 80-low 90s.

Last week i fought the urge to purchase the DCI for a few days and finally fell in to the mod bug and purchased the DCI and BT Scan tool Enthusiast version.

DCI install was straight forward and got it installed in 20-30 minutes. Went ahead with the golf tee mod as well. I also downloaded the BT software and played with it for a bit in the car. I went in and checked codes and cleared all the adaptation data for the ecu and also the trans (auto).

Initial test drive impressions were crazy! The car sounded completely different with the golf tee mod, and the intake sound is bananas. You can definitely hear the turbos spooling since the air box is no longer there to muffle the sound.

Hard to say how much of a difference the adaptation data reset made performance wise, but combined with the intake, it was quite a difference. The throttle response is alot crisper along with the transmission shifts being smoother, but firmer.

All in all, im very happy with the CS i got from Mike & the products from BMS. The BT scan tool is a must, very easy to use, and should be in everyone's tool box. The code reading is a bonus, along with adaptation resets, and device activation commands (for troubleshooting), make it worthwhile. I'm actually considering upgrading to the PRO version so i can help other enthusiasts in the area with codes and whatnot. But, i will have to wait till i get back from deployment.

This review is nothing new to tune owners, but wanted to share my experiences to others who might be looking for info.

I didn't think that the golf tee mod made any difference in sound on an E90?
