Ordered A 2010 335i Coupe
I wanted to change this to reflect the udpate.
My 2009 got pushed to 2010 and it has just reached status code 190! Specs include: Jet Black 6 Speed Black Leatherette Sports Package (189 Wheels) Logic 7 Aluminum Trim I'm hoping it comes in the next month or so. Dealer said there is 3.9% financing for the 2010. That kind of burned me because of the 1.9% for 2009s... I'm still very excited and ready to pick it up (finally). Last edited by BayMoWe335; 09-08-2009 at 08:18 PM.. Reason: Update |

You got a new M6 for only $40,000?! Just kidding - you may confuse a few people. I think you're talking about a 6MT, i.e. manual transmission. Not an M6, ie very expensive and somewhat strange looking but very fast BMW coupe.

Sounds like a nice ride. The wait is the toughest part, but it will be so worth it in the end. Be sure to show us some pictures when you get her!
Congrats once again, and welcome to the forum!

Good choice on the vehicle. I dislike some wood trim too.
I was confused by the entire original post until I read this. I was thinking.. why is the OP cross shopping between a 335i and an M6... hmmm... |

Welcome. I personally love all the options but if that's not what you want I can certainly appreciate that. It sounds like you did the right thing with your reseach and looking around. Even though it's not an '08 it sounds like you're getting what you want and the difference between the 2 are minor at best. The Logic 7 is great IMO - and I agree with you - nothing aftermarket for a stereo in my Bimmer. While it may not be an audiophile's dream, it's just fine 99.9% of the time - I love mine. Also, you don't save anything going with an auto tranny - autos are a cost option over the manual so the MTs are actually a bit less expensive. And you're right on the money there too - the MT is really the way to go with a 335. If you like an MT and got the auto because you were impatient you'd have been kicking yourself for the entire time you own the car. Welcome again and congrats on your new ride. Post pics when she arrives - you're gonna love her!

Lol! Sorry guys. I came out of a WS6 that I always referred to as an M6 (for the 6 speed). I am very familiar with the BMW M6 but thought nothing of it at the time of post.
Thanks for the support guys! Thought about M package, but didn't feel it justified the cost. Can't have it all, I suppose. |

I was wondering...
After some reading, will I be lucky enough to avoid the documented 09 335i fuel pump issues if I'm getting such a late model 09? My build date should be sometime in August. |

And you're right...even though I had to pony up a few thousand more, it's not like the 08s with under 15k miles were that cheap! Dealers were wanting upwards of 41-42k for them. Sure, they might have had navigation and premium package, but I couldn't see paying nearly the same for a used car with options meaning little to me...especially at the cost of not getting a manual. Anyway, I will let you guys know when she arrives...hopefully without the fuel pump issue. |

I'm not sure you can. What the dealer did was catch one that had a "production number" and was able to change the options before it was actually built.
In essence, it sounds as though BMW was building a batch of 335i cars for dealers in the US and this dealer had some on order which it could change last minute. There is no VIN, but it has a production number. From what I understand, this is further along than a car with no production number whatsoever. |

Hmm, my dealer told me they are shutting down shortly, but not as of last week. 09/10, I don't really care...I'm just hoping it goes smoothly. My bill of sale is for a 2009.

I hope you have better luck. I'm now waiting until mid Oct, from what I'm told.

So does that mean the Lexus IS F would be an A8 IS F? Wait but A8 is an Audi beast. WTF A8 = Auto 8 lol

My guess is that your car is already built and either on the boat or about to ship. The window for "modifying" a MY '09 e92 frame expired about a month ago. So, if they haven't told you anything, I'd imagine you're all set, just that they were able to "grab" an existing car that was built to your specs. LUCKY!
