Used Car Shopping tip: always request for Service Record History
I went with my friend yesterday again to check out some CPO 335i's. Now I understand why the previous owners got rid of their car. Just a tip for you guys shopping for USED cars: always request the car's service record history before making any decision.
For example, there was this one '07 335i coupe being sold by Brian Jessel BMW. According to the history, the car has been brought back to the dealer 10 times within two years for repairs. Electrical components had been diagnosed and repaired many times, fuel pump failure, etc. 2007 model with 41500km, and only two oil changes. Still, the dealer has the gut to sell this car for $48k, I tell you, these guys are smoking crack. You can get a 2009 demo with less mileage and more options for only $57k. |

you're over reacting there... only big issue is fuel pump, there's alot of small things that don't even matter... for example;
oil change/brake fluid/wheels tires - nothing rear brake - can be as simple as someone complains about brakes being too hard/soft/etc radio - nothing heating ac - can be as simple as someone complained about bad smell or something body - can be as small as a repaired scratch wiper - they change it for free with maintenance flat repair - self explanatory brake lamp - is a simple small bulb replacement on the tail lights i agree with you about the price tho... you can get brand new for 55g's with decent options |

There are lots of "*DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR" which doesn't detail what the problem is.
Indeed I may be overreacting, but how many times have I taken my cars to the dealer during the first two years of ownership? Maybe four or five times max only, including scheduled oil change and/or services. |

you can request this information if the car is being sold at a dealership. I don't think you can request the service record history of someone else's car, unless, of course, you know someone working internally at a dealership. So yes, only the actual owner can get it.

price is a bit high when compared to new, but as stated earlier, some people are very picky.
For me, if i hear one rattle or squeak, or something just doesn't feel right, i live so close to the dealer that i'll take it there...make use of that warranty. Others however will just keep driving regardless of mileage, warning lights, or noises...they'll only go to the dealer if it needs to be towed in. as the motto goes...pay now, or pay more later. (unless ur under warranty!)

Hey guys, look at the service performed on 06/27/2009 and 07/22/2009.
I see that the air bag, seat belts, and interior trims have been replaced. Then, taken to a body shop later on. Do you think there was a major accident, and required replacement of these parts? When an air bag gets deployed, the interior trim(s) needs to be replaced. Funny thing is that Carproof shows nothing. |

I did. They just say whatever is on carproof which is a no. Hmm I dunno.. body equipment, air bag, seat belts, and interior trims being replaced/ordered, followed by a trip to a bodyshop. Sounds fishy to me.
