Run flat Sensor

I am going to buy the Winter rubber and Replica Alloy Rim how can I tell if I need a sensor or not? I have a 2009 335i Xdrive any info appreciated.

I think your sensor is in the ABS system and not in the wheel. Call your dealer and ask. If it's in the ABS, you don't need TPM in the wheel but you'll have to reset your set point in your car right after you install them.

Great! Thanks for the info Me_Hi.. I called BMW Canada the guy told me I don't need it but will call dealer just to doubel check.

Hi joleel7,

Did you confirm with BMW Canada that a TPM senor is not required in the wheels?

Also check the valve stems. Apparently the TPMS cars have metal valve stems with a disk like cap rather than the usual ones.

I thought Canadian models didn't require the TPMS sensors.

We do not have the TPMS system like the US does. We DO NOT need those expensive little pieces!!

canadian 3-series do not use TPMS. 5's, 6's, and 7's do.

the wheels sometimes come with tpms but our cars do not use tpms.

please . its been covered at least 10 times in the last month in the canadian section alone

How is that done exactly? (through the in-car menu, or is dealership software required?)

Thru your iDrive....assuming you have it. If not, check your owner's manual and it will walk you thru it.

Nothing like flying down the road and having a "flat tire" warning come on!! Not that I would know....hehe.

Sorry for the late reply yes BMW Canada and the Dealership both confirmed my 335i xDrive does not required sensor just get the correct size wheels.
