Anyone help with my lease question?

Please bare with me as I explain the situation. my wife and i are applying for a new mortgage and need to decrease our monthly payments. our bank guy said just pay the remaining lease payments on our cars. so i called mazda for my wife's car, done in 4 mins, no probs.
i called bmw FS and the guy said if i did pay the remaining 8 payments i would have to bring the car back...
has anyone had any experience in this? why the hell would mazda let me pay them more money right away and bmw won't?
any thoughts/advice?

Logically doesnt make sense your paying the 8 month payments upfront so why would they take your car back? Call again and ask to speak with manager.

You can't prepay the remaining payments because if BMW FS accept that, that means that they are charging you double interest, you will have the right to go after them, therefore they won't accept any pre pay lease payments after the contract is booked.
