FATT - 24 July - Anyone

I have AD08s on my 1 series -- had them on last FATT as well. Was out at the track last weekend and caught a dark blue 135 sneaking through the paddock. Surely I can convince one of you to come to one of our events.

We have a three day with space in all groups, 14-16 August at Summit Point, $375 students/$225 instructors.

And, a three day at VIR (with space in all groups) , 4-6 September, $375 students/$225 instructors.

email me at alanh@pcapotomac.org if you are interested.

Hey, You'll definitely see me there (as usual ;-)

I was just about to post this same topic when I saw yours.

Tell me more about this Sept. VIR event. I'm very interested. I'll talk to you Friday if you don't get back to me here though.

See you at FATT!!!

I'll be there; but, registration is on line and if you email me I will set up an account for you. DEChair@pcapotomac.org I am trying to convince my wife to drive the 1 to VIR. We are taking the 911; but, the 135 is easier to drive and she is recovering from rotator cuff surgery.

Details -- three days on the VIR full course. It is run similar to the FATTs except that you will be assigned an instructor ahead of time. We typically like to make Saturday a longer day and shorten Sunday because people like to leave early. It is $375 for all three days for students and $225 for Instructors. All students are eligible for solo sign-offs at their instructor's discretion. Generally that happens on the second day. Green is similar to FATT group 1; Blue is similar to Group 2I (instructed); White is similar to Group 2.

For help in understanding our run groups; I put together some data from our last years VIR event. We have five run groups; Green (Instructed - Beginners); Blue (Instructed - Novice); White (Intermediate); Black (Advanced-Instructor); Red (same as Black - faster cars and/or more experience). Club Racers participants can be found in White through Red and clearly the number of days is not a requirement for progression through to White, many exceptional drivers have moved through the ranks with minimum time in each group. It is generally not the case.

In the data I provided I dropped the high and the low numbers to arrive at the range.

By run group and number of track days (average) and range
Green - 16 days - range 1 to 50 (largest concentration 8 - 25)
Blue - 32 days - range 12 to 81 (largest concentration 29 - 36)
White - 61 days - range 24 to 132 (largest concentration 36 - 69, some cup cars)
Black - 110 days - range 42 to 275 (largest concentration 77 - 160, several cup cars)
Red - 215 days - range 75 to 1006 (many cup cars)

See you at the track.
