How soon can I start modding???
Ok so the cars at the dealer lot and awaiting PDI, which means I get to pick it up on SATURDAY MORNINGGGGGGG...............
but here's the big question..........i've already got a BMS DCI sitting in my garage, and have already made plans for adding an exhaust and tune....... but how soon can i start modding a brand new 335i? is it sufficient to wait until after the break-in period or should i wait a bit longer? a month? 2 months?? i can't wait to exploit this engine!!!!!!!!! |

when I first took the delivery of my car. I told myself that I would give it at least good 6 month before I do anything to feel out what BMW 335i's got to offer me stock, and just add mods one by one when I start to get little bored. I only have like intake installed in my car. I say take it slow since you paid good amount of money to drive it as is, why spend so soon just my 2 cents

i dunno, but unless these are
1) purely cosmetic mods 2) BMW OEM perf parts 3) or plug&play mods, i think waiting till warranty is out before modding is the way to go. however, if you are friggin rich and don't care about stuff like that, ya, after break-in period is good.

I am in the market for exhaust too. Beside Borla/ Magnaflow, have you considered Eisennman? I am also in the market for coilovers. Xdrive does not have a lot of options for suspension mod. Another plan is to get HID yellow fogs. That's it for now. I don't need more power, especially coming from M3 sedan, I feel that any more power than 335i is wasted on the street.

I ordered my M-Tech kit a month before the car was delivered.

if you're doing cosmetics then start right away. if you're doing stuff to the engine then wait til it's broken in.

Thanx for all the suggestions guys.........yah im not too worried about the cosmetic mods....... i can do those on the fly..........but i'm more interested in this very potent N54 engine.......that was the main reason i jumped into a 335i........otherwise cosmetically, the 328i would have sufficed..........

Another exhaust DP-Back you might want to consider AE Exhaust http://www.autobahnexotics.com/store...products_id=41 The following article might be of help to you with the decision http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/art...ive-decisions/ After reading it and looking at the ratings for DP-Back I felt AE was the best value for the money. I agree , had JB3 with BMS DCI installed on the second day after picking up the car from the dealership.
