Anyone seen the Terra leather with burl walnut trim? Looks cool on the bmwusa website but who knows in real life. Thoughts? Pics?

Some pics look a little orange looking while others look good. I'm intrigued but until seeing more pics, likely to go with black.

terra

Wildcatjohn:

Nice name. I'd be wary of the terra until you actually see it, as you suggested. The real pics I've seen look pretty muddy to me. I liked the idea of a dark or burnt orange, but it doesn't appear to be that at all.

Don't know why they couldn't just offer caramel, terra-cotta or british tan...oh well.

Cheers.

wildcatjon, have here's two more terra pics someone just posted. I think it looks real good with a darker color car like SG or black.

Thanks for the pics. Wildcat Jon is due to my allegiance to the University of Kentucky Wildcats - 7 NCAA titles (more than dUKe and UNC combined!) and most NCAA wins of any team in history!

terra again

spikes111: Thanks a mil for the pic! Sorry guys, but terra is one of the worst-looking colors I have EVER seen in leather. I know some of you are big fans, and it's just my opinion, but the guy who picked this color should be flogged! Repeatedly. Good God!!! Anyway, enough of that. My prediction is that Terra will be gone in 6 months replaced by anything else BMW has. It just blows.

Thanks again for the real pictures. Sorry for the rant. But if I were running the 3 series brand, I'd pick the best leather color I could possibly find, not the worst. What was wrong with natural brown???

I dunno sparky I kinda like it. It's sorta like natural brown with some reddish hue to it. I think it looks good with SG and wuold probably look great in a black car. Just my opinion (but then again I love my m-coupe while some call it a clown shoe)

no clowning around

Daveo-I'm probably being too harsh on the terra. Just had high expectations about leather. BTW-your coupe is no clown shoe. When I first saw it I thought it looked odd, now I think it's one of the coolest cars out there. And what a driver! Well done!

Drive fast.

personally, after seeing those pics, I wish I had time to change my configuration..Im so scared Im not going to like my beige, only because I keep having nightmares about mud stains, and dirt all over the place..however, my dealer has a shelf full of OEM cleaning products that Ive used for the first time a few weeks ago, and oh my gosh, this stuff is amazing..from window cleaner to leather conditioner...hopefully i wont need a million bottles of the stuff!!

These pics are older I think. Terra would look awesome in a black e90 too!

bozo - nothing wrong with beige... I think it's a safe color, just won't be as unique as terra.

Here's a link to my 325 with Terra and Burl;
http://www.losingtime.com/bmw/
It's an awesome combination, I wouldn't want any other color (except maybe lemon).
Yes, the Terra looks a little orange in some pics, but it really is a nice mellow brown. Don't think of Terra as "Terracotta", but think of Terra more as "Earth".
BMWUSA site doesn't do it justice, it's a must see in real life to make your choice.

^^^^^Very nice
I saw Terra with Red that also had the walnut. The two looked really good together, IMO. I wish we could get Lemon!

Petercat - thanks for the pictures and links. That is exactly the interior coming in on my Alpine White 325i in a couple weeks. It's so hard to get two pictures to come out looking the same, and to reflect what you actually see in the car in person.
