Cdn 325i - what do i have?

based on searching, I think I have a non-logic 7 stereo with the pictured factory amp. I think the second pic is the pre-wire for sat/bluetooth.
Am I correct?
I have the professional HU, can it run XM, or do I have to use my car kit to install? And if I have to use my xm car kit can I use the fin as the antenna for the xm radio? Thx.

Your system is HiFi and that connector is for the accessory CD Changer. The OEM Sat tuner is Sirius, not XM. For integrated XM receiver for your car see this: http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...oducts_id=2317

As far as I know, none of the 2006 Canadian E90/91 have satellite radio pre-wire, so unfortunately we can't tap into where that lead would be under the trunk floor to make use of the sharkfin. For the past 2 1/2 years I've had my Roady XT stuck to the dash, with the antenna sitting at the base of the windshield. I rarely drive out of town so I can rely on the terrestrial repeaters to save me when I'm out of line of sight.

That totally sucks. The antenna for the sat prewire is pink. Doesnt look like you have it.

Thanks all. So, I'll use the car kit included with my portable xm radio.

I've done some reading, and am wondering which factory speakers will take more power as I'm looking to upgrade the amp (I like the alpine pdx 4 or 5 based on what I've read on here). The front doors and subs are likely where I'll start first, and I'm looking to keep as stock a look as possible but am not concerned about cutting as it's not a lease.

You have satellite radio preparation so you will need a module and programming (for the most part can only be done at a dealership -- yes, it is a scam). Some of the other wires are for other options such as BMW assist, and bluetooth (depending on model). The OEM part comes for Sirius not XM (but who cares it is essentially the same company now). If you want to save money, there are a lot of aftermarket options at lower prices (although it will not look as clean). If you do end up going with an OEM Sirius kit, try to install it yourself. It is not a difficult installation and you can always get programming done at the BMW dealership (cost me $120 when I needed it after Ipod adapter installation). There are a lot of DYI pages about that on this forum.

sooo... after a road trip with the kids I needed to clean the car, and I took the back panel out of the trunk. Now this is what I found(I know based on reading that Canadian cars don't come prewired for BT). If I'm right one looks like another end for the CD changer mentioned above, but from there I'm lost. Expert help appreciated...

It looks to me that your car do have Telephone prep (option 640) by the number of SMB connectors available (at least one for GPS and one for the cell antenna)

Thanks Technic, appreciate the help.
As it seems I have the prep, to get bluetooth working wold I have to do the retrofit with TCU and ULF? As it's a Cdn car, what advantage would there be in ordering option 640 if you don't go all the way to premium?

TCU retrofit: http://www.bmwtis.com/tsb/attachments/B841405_E9x.pdf

Premium is just a package of several options together, not a requirement for Bluetooth/Assist by itself as it can be ordered separately in Canada as well as in the USA. In your case, the 640 pre-wiring just simplifies the installation of the TCU/ULF if you so desire to install, and it seems that it is standard equipment in Canada as well as in the USA.

Technic, among the terminals shown in NS.325i's pic, can you tell if any of them would appear to be for satellite radio pre-wire? I was under the assumption that the pink one is it and that no Canadian cars came with it for 2006.
