Front speaker removal

I'm having a problem receiving calls as the voice sounds really distorted. The same occurs when listening to talk radio. I suspect there is one speaker in the front dash which handles most of those frequencies.

Do you know if phone calls are routed to only one speaker? How easy is to remove the front speaker? I couldn't find any pictures in the forums. I have the upgraded stereo in the E90.

I'm not interested in upgrading my stereo system, I just want to fix that speaker. Should I try a professional shop instead of taking it to the dealer (I'm out of warranty)? Or is it easy enough to do it by myself.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Any BMW repair shop should be able to replace it. They will just need to order the part.

hi, I have been experiencing a noise in the front dash, it sounds like metal agains metal when driving on a bumpy road. So, I would appreciate if you could tell me how you removed the front dash, or have access to the interior of it.
thanks!

Take a look at the speaker under your steering wheel.
