New to the Forums :)
Hello all,
Well after years of lurking, I finally bit the bullet and purchased my very own 335i. I previously drove a 2000 civic si that was stolen and recovered. However, not much was recovered. See pics below. Anywho, I had to purchase a car soon and have been looking at everything from 335i, 135i, Mustang Gt, 370z and vw gti. So this weekend I was at the Bimmer dealer and saw a 2007 AW Coupe exactly how I would order it!!!! So, I went ahead and bought it on the spot I will use the search function, but if any one can forward me to some FAQ about the N54 that would be great. Anything I should check/change that BMW may have skipped over that you all are aware of? the $20 clutch valve? I will post pictures when I detail it this weekend. On to the pics of the carnage: Last edited by 335si; 09-23-2009 at 11:29 PM.. |

Reminds me of when my '99 Acura Integra GS-R was stolen. They left the body but took the engine, transmission, seats, dashboard, wheels, airbag, just about everything. Fortunately they left my OK Computer CD and Sidi Dominator MTB shoes!

Believe it or not the 1999-2000 Civic Si is a highly desirable car as all the parts fit on to other civics, even previous generations. In addition to being able to sell just about every part, the car is extremely easy to steal, only takes about 1 minute. Just about every 1999-00 Si has been stolen or broken into. I was on 9 years of borrowed time.

Ah, the joys of honda/acura ownership. I had a similar experience with a GSR-swapped 93 hatch (which had an alarm, btw):
and welcome! |

Don't you hate these car stealing oxygen wasters? I really liked that generation Civic Si. At the time, I almost went for one but decided on a 5th Gen Prelude instead
Anyway, congrats on the BMW and welcome. |

That's one heck of a way to get a BMW for sure!! Welcome and congrats on your find, but I must correct you; my 99 Si has never been broken into or stolen... yet.

One thing I would definitely add to your engine is an OCC (oil catch can). I and many others can attest to their effectiveness in preventing oil from being disbursed throughout unwanted components of our engine(s) ........ namely, the FMIC.
Sorry to see the si go that way .......... I had owned a 1987 Grand National that suffered a similar death. Congrats on the bimmer & welcome to THE club! |
