Suspended driver caught speeding

TORONTO -- A 27-year-old Brampton man under suspension for racing was clocked going 190 km/h by the OPP on Hwy. 407 yesterday.

The Acura was travelling east on Hwy. 407 at Weston Rd. when it was spotted by a patrolling cop at 7 a.m., OPP Sgt. Dave Woodford said.

The driver, whose name was not immediately available, was convicted March 19 for racing, he said.

"He was under suspension for a previous racing" conviction, Woodford said. "He had no insurance on the vehicle."

The man is charged with driving while suspended, driving without insurance and stunt driving.

"Some people, it doesn't matter what happens. They just do whatever they want to do," Woodford said.

Because the car, which belonged to the man's sister, was travelling more than 50 km/h above the 100 km/h speed limit, it has been impounded for seven days.

Sad... I wonder how many licenses and tickets will be given out on this long weekend.. its weird when they cops tell you they are going to be out there and people still go ahead and do stupid things.. just amazing.. tells you how many stupid people are in this province...
