While the Navi package is cool ... Love the dash.
Is it really worth the money when a great GPS can be purchased for 300-500 bucks? I would have got it, if it was already in the car, but it wasnt so I didnt miss it. |

I am struggling my first BMW now, ^_^, 328xi + premium + navi? Of course, I am NOT that kind of rich guy, who never worry about money, that is why I would like to get some advice from here. ^_^
Thanks~! |

hehe its always hard to choose. I had a problem between auto/6spd and black or white.
I couldnt really afford navi but if i could it would be very difficult to choose between navi or sports pack. I didnt need a premium pack at all. some ppl like/need it. Personal taste. since u are rich guy I say ditch the navi and premium pack and get M pack. its will be cheaper 4.3k vs Mpack 3.9k

It's cool to have, but if money is tight, I would just pass.
If you can afford, you won't regret it!

I think having a Navi looks really cool. It handles a lot and not just the GPS unit.
I personally don't have the navi and do not regret it. However, if you have the money then it might be something to consider. But GPS units can be bought at 1/4 the price and is considered a better gps unit compared to the navi gps. But I do have the premium package and love it. In the end, you just need to ask yourself if you "really" need it |

The advantage of having Navi/iDrive is there are a lot more things you can play with and adjust with the iDrive. Granted the stalk can also let you select some features, it's just not the same...

iDrive wasn't a necessity for me when looking for my used E90, but the car I found had it so I accepted it. After 4000kms I can honestly say that I now feel that it "makes" the car. Sure the navigation portion isn't the best (or nearly as good as a garmin for POI, but if you have the address it works fine), however it's much more than that such as the audio controls and phone interface. Also I do use the navigation to see if small streets are through streets and whatnot. If I had to reach up to my Garmin on a windshield that'd never be left up there anyway, I couldn't do that.
Bottom line is I'd do it again, no question, meanwhile while I was searching I didn't really want it. |

i thought you dont need premium to get navigation because i did not get premium back in 2007 and i still got navi but correct me if i am wrong.
when you look at navi you dont just look at the navigation system you gotta consider the idrive. idrive system is definitly worth it. its hard to say why but once you use one for a while you will know it is.
