Swiss cheese 335 anyone?

Were any of you Toronto guys as unfortunate as me to be parked outside this AM?

I woke up to the hail pounding on my roof only to run outside in my underwear bare foot to find my car being hammered with golf size hail chunks

The damage wasn't so obvious at first. But after the rain stopped and the sun came out it was a different story. The hood is ruined, as it the roof, and trunk. Both pillars and even the aluminum trim is dented. How are things like the pillars and and trim fixed, if at all?

I made a claim with my insurance company and I'm going to the body shop Tuesday. My guess is 15-25k damage .. I heard the car is considered a write off if the damage is 80% of the cars current value.

Hope you guys were luckier then I was.. If anyone has had experience with this in the past, Let me know how repairs worked out for you.

I'll get some pics up when I have a chance guys. The quote is just a guess from my end, judging by how many panels are damaged. The windshield is cracked too.

I was at the BMW dealership when it happened. Something was pounding on the roof then we saw those golf ball sized hails coming down. The dealer guys were scrambling to move a 335 cab and a few E90s indoor, but the Z4 that was parked outside was just sitting there, though there doesn't seem to be very serious damages on it.

My Acura EL had hail damage.

9k in damage, but no way considered a write off. Still drivable. Insurance had PDR done and it looked good as new. Only thing replaced was windshield and trim around the windows.

Interesting. Some of my family and friends cars got damaged too, but mine seems to be the worst off by far. It's also the location of some of the dents that concerns me.

It was only a hugh downpour up in Richmond Hill at that time. I was driving my daughter to dance class.

Insurance will pay for the repair and it will be paintless dent removal. Expect a long waiting time for appointment.

man, that sucks. sorry to hear. what part of the City do you live in? I was taking my son somewhere and got hit with hail (Forest Hill Village) but it wasn't large enough to cause any damage. My friend who lives at Avenue & Lawrence, however, said the hail was the size of golf balls. Weird.

sorry to hear this.... I was actually on HWY401 and Kennedy and cruising at 100km/hr when the hail hits

it wasn't as big as golf balls but most cars slowed down to a halt and most of us just waited it out on the shoulder, only a few cars kept going at low speed

I haven't inspected my car closely but I havent noticed any visual damages

hopefully things work out for u either way

Yes, my car had some minor damage from this morning's hail storm. Exactly the same time as mentioned, around 9:30am. Car was parked on my driveway

The hail in the North York area was smaller, no larger than a quarter in diameter. Now I've got about 5 dents on my roof. Surprisingly my hood is in perfect condition.. those folds on the LCI hood may have made the steel more rigid

I'll try to get a dent removal quote tomorrow.. maybe I can get a bulk price for all the dents.

if its that bad, it'll run you $7-9g's to repaint the car, should be covered under comprehensive and should not effect insurance payments

I was still sleeping at that time, but i heard the crazy bangin' noise in my bedroom around that time between 9:30am-10am. Both my cars were in the garage, but my buddy's g37S was outside and had little craters on the roof/hood/trunk but no broken windshield. Insurance will be doing PDR on his car as well.

Ya location apparently made a huge difference. I'm close to Bayview and Lawrence.

Do you mean you think they will just bond and re paint the damaged areas? Not what I was hoping for.

I'm pretty sure the damage on my car is beyond PDR, there are just that many dents in that many places. Gotta be at least 60-80..
