Subwoofer installation questions

I have several questions about subwoofer installation in a E90.

1) Is it ok to hide an amplifier in the compartment below the trunk?
2) Where exactly is the factory amplifier located?
3) Will I need to use a sound processor like the MTX re-Q5 to connect the factory amplifier to the aftermarket amplifier?
4) What is a good place to put the bass knob into?

1) Yes, as long as it doesn't overheat this is fine
2) On the left side, under the carpet. You have to take out the little tray to access it.
3) Not sure, but in my case I used the Pac-Audio TRUNK-LOC which served the same purpose.
4) anywhere you want, its your car!!!

For 2) Does a MTX re-Q5 really make that much more difference than a simple converter?
For 4) Where will it look best is my question?

Don't settle for anything less, you will be wasting more money if you buy a sound processor that wont satisfy you. You'd end up throwing that away and buying the MTX that you should have bought in the first place.

A person who works with audio installation told me that you do not really need a sound processor for a subwoofer in the E90. Anyone else have opinions about it?

What will the difference between the LOC and a sound processor be?

From what I could gather from the difference present about the pac trunk loc and the MTX re-Q5 is the ability to reprocess the bass signal from the factory HU because it is "downplayed" by the factory HU to protect the factory subs. This would allow for a more fuller bass response coming to your new amp and sub. I personally wouldnt go for it because there isnt much reviews on the MTX re-Q5 and if it really did help like the description said then why havent car audiophiles reviewed a lot more? Its up to you, Im sticking with my pac-trunk loc and my zx750.1 and L7 should have more than enough bass for my liking.

The real intent of the ReQ (which most MTX dealers don't know) is to boost bass at higher volumes in systems which reduce the bass at higher volumes. The Logic 7 does not do this.

For Logic 7 cars, a RF 360 or a Clean Sweep with a summing adapter are the path at present. All this is well described in other threads, I'm just putting this in here to guide future forum members finding this.

And if you have Logic 7, a PAC LOC is not the answer either.

Can you please post links of where I can get these parts? What is the disadvantage of a PAC LOC?
