Stupid brokerage fees....

Purchased an ACS roof spoiler from JBSpeed. Paid extra for adhesive and shipping to Canada. Just received the package and was charged $41.16 in brokerage fees and taxes (UPS)....on top of that I didn't get the adhesive.

I was told the ACS sticker will come seperately...hopefully the adhesive will come with it.

Is JBSpeed affiliated with ********? It came in a ******** box.

^yes! Its from ********. If it came from taiwan, it came straight from taiwan, and I didn't pay any brokerage fees, tax, duty, etc!

When i ordered my Acs rep. roof spoiler from carking (old vendor), i didn't have to pay duty and all that shit!

Ground shipments , either UPS or FEDEX (UPS Standard, or Fedex Ground) do not include brokerage.

Express shipments, both UPS or FEDEX (anything other than UPS Standard or Fedex ground) do include brokerage.

Consider this next time you order. It may be cheaper to have express service.

JB Speed buys almost all his stuff from ********. I bought my Aero Lip spoiler and it also came in a Z Shift box.

Funny because JB Speed usually gives me better pricing than Z Shift. Plus he ships out quickly...

UPS and Fedex always has brokerage fee, so next time you should try to ask the seller to use USPS!!

I didn't know JBSpeed was the same company.
Let me try again,
JBSPEED gets half of the stuff from ******** i.e E92 m3 front bumper, acs roof spoilers, vrs rep. decklid spoilers, etc. If you get one of those items, she/he will order it from ******** and ******** will send it to you....then you'll have to pay for duty, tax, brokerage fees, etc when you recieving the item(s) BUT if you order something like cf e-brake handle, emblems, anything that JBSPEED has in taiwan, and shipped from taiwan to canada, you are NOT going pay duty, brokerage fees and all that bullshit! When i ordered my Acs rep. roof spoiler from carking, i didn't pay anything when i recieved it cuz it was shipped straight from taiwan.
So next time when you order, make sure where he/she is getting it from .

Thanks for clearing this up. Are you 100% sure though? I was recently asking about wheels being shipped straight from Asia and customer had to pay gst and 6% duty...

I think wheels would be different as they can't go through regular post. It would need to go by freight...so i think you'll definitately get dinged by duties and such.

You didn't get charged duty and brokerage simply because you were luck that day that the Customs people slept on the job, and that happens once in a while. Even if they decided to charge you, the sales tax portion is inconsistence. Once I had 4 wheels with tires shipped from the US via USPS as 4 individual parcels. Guess what? All 4 got charged GST and the $8 Canada Post brokerage but only 2 got charged PST. Same Customers offier badge number on all 4 bills. Figure that!

Regarding duty, you can import goods duty free only if it is made in a NAFTA country. You still have to pay GST (and may be PST) on top nonetheless. If you clear customs yourself you can avoid the brokerage fee. See posting #24 on this one:
