Reset the Ecu after install?

This is my first BMW, coming from Honda's.
I did a search with no luck of this.
When installing intakes and exhaust with Honda's I've always pulled the battery to reset the Ecu. I guess so the Ecu can relearn certain parameters with air/exhaust flow.
Is this the same on my 135?

I think BMWs ecu is constantly relearning. I may be wrong.

That's my understanding was well... Add a jb3 and it will compensate for all mods such as downpipes, intake, exhaust, etc.

Yea..i have the jb3, didn't install it yet. Just got the car, so I would like to know how the car is before I put it in. This way i'll know the difference.
