I like Poorboy's wheel sealant. Goes on and wipes off easier than wheel wax.

BMW's shed brake dust like a mofo. Get some protection on your wheels PDQ, otherwise look forward to claying.

1. get it clean as you can
2. clay out the things like tar that's stuck
3. P21S polishing soap found here http://www.detailedimage.com/P21S-M1...P84/105-oz-S1/

don't go too far with the p21s though because i've heard it is abrasive

also, you shouldn't use any chemicals that aren't pH balanced with wheels that aren't clear coated

Rejex is another good wheel sealant: http://www.rejex.com/rejex.html.

As far as pre-sealant cleaning, I would wash, clay (you may not need to do this if they are new) and even hit with a 50/50 mixture of water and isopropyl alcohol (to remove anything else). I don't know that I would use P21S metal polishing soap on a clear coated surface as suggested above.

Do not use P21s polishing soap, it is abrasive because it is a metal polish, your wheels are clear coated so you should treat as you would treat paint, not bare metal. I would say claying and wheel sealant(poorboys is pretty good, smell great too!) are the way to go, as long as you keep up with them they shouldn't need polishing, just don't use brushes to clean them, especially the lips, soft grout sponge or sheepskin(dedicate a seperate one for wheel use) would work well.
