Yup, was at the 8am session on Sat.
I thought it was fun driving the different cars around the course. They had BMW 328 xDrive, 335 xDrive, Lexus 250AWD, Audi A4 2.0T Quattro,, Merc C300 AWD and a 335d. |

I was suppose to go but I've had a nasty flu for over a week now so I skipped it. I was reading on another forum that the highlight of the event was the 335d. I really need to go into a dealership and test drive one.

I am still getting those invite ads in Yahoo.ca... I don't think they picked people yet??? The event in Toronto is at the end of May and early June.

I went to the 10am session. It was nice, yeah I noticed the check brake pad notification of the Mercedes (or was that Lexus..forgot) and subsequent crappy braking.
Also agree the 335D was awesome |

The 328 and 335 both handled better than the other cars. The steering was very light on the Audi with not much feedback and the brake pedal was soft. Merc sounded good but felt kinda cheap on the inside. I didn't get a chance to ride the Lexus.
I was impressed by the 335d. The course wasn't long enough to really stretch its legs but it was smooth and had lots of torque down low. I think you need a much longer test drive on the streets and highways to really show what it can do. It was quiet and did not stink. If the diesel came with a manual and in the E92 body I would seriously consider it. |

During the presentation, they also mentioned that the LCI for the E92 was still 18 months away. Most people seem to think the facelift will come this fall in the 2010 E92 models but it may not be until next year.

I went. I will post photos when things die down at work here.
335d was interesting. Good amounts of torque once the turbos spool...but initial delay (turbo lag) off the line unlike the 335i which feels more instant on. Considering mileage tho...that's a decent trade-off. Lexus IS...nice car but not enough interior room. Even with the seat lowered all the way to the floor, in my preferred seating position there is very limited clearance between my head and the roof. Not very comforting. Audi A4...a big boat of a car. It has really grown...and is larger than any of the other cars. Lots of legroom...but around the tight turns you can feel that you have to work with more car. Mercedes C...not bad actually. Not the best handler...but I didn't mind it too much. Not a huge fan of the cheapish lid on the navi screen. My rankings: 335i Xdrive 335d 328i Mercedes C300 4matic Audi A4 2.0T Lexus IS250 AWD |
