micro scratches/swirl removal question
Hi
Like previously reported, I have found some spider-web like micro scratches on my 3 weeks old beautiful car ( 09 e92 Alpine White). Other than the fact I have decided to hand wash from now on, my options are : do nothing as these are rally minor abrasions seen only if you look directly with the sun reflecting, or, take a more proactive way and try to remove these scratches using commercial do -it- yourself products. I have seen so many products, yet do not know what to use ( Klasse, XMT, Mguiars etc.) all guarantee perfect results, BUT, now I am scared I am going to damage the finish even more . Your opinions? Thanks BP |

Well since you posted this in two places, I'll post my thoughts here too.

No worries, I wasn't criticizing. Just wasn't sure which thread you would be looking at.

copied from your other thread as im assuming it will get deleted.
I fix all my own paint swirls with a orbital buffer. I picked up a porter cable 7424 and some Optimum compound and polish. I also have all sorts of different pads for minor to deep scratches. My advice is diy. It's really easy with a orbital buffer. Btw I am by no means a pro, I just watched some tutorials and did it myself. If you can wax your own car, you can polish it with a porter cable. For the price of one full detail by someone else, you can buy a buffer and all the supplies needed to do you car for 5 years+. Check out autopia.org for tons of info on detailing. heres some pics from when i had my other car and did a full detail on it. this is just after a 1 step polishing and claybar. no wax! after claybar after polish before wax |
