I have 3M window tint product and Llumar clear bra ........

Both of these have treated me well and the Lumar clear bra really does a nice job as it's 7mm thick.

i have 3M high performance FX-HP tint and its probably the best film I've ever had. Its has a nice deep thick tone to it. Only thing that sucks is that lots of the bubbled areas (sides of door windows, top of rear windshield, etc) were not layed well and you can see lots of the bubbles. But the the actual film is great.

I've had Lumar on my last 5 cars including my e90 and it did not fade or change colors. I can't speak for the 3m tint but I know you won't be disappointed with the quality of the Lumar tint. Just ensure you get a reputable installer. I have 20% sides and 15% on the back.

Lumar is black, there's no metallic hue to it.

tint

I've tinted cars in another lifetime and used Lumar and 3M. I prefer the color of the 3M. It's more of a titanium hue to it and has a very crisp view to see through and your color perception is more true. Lumar cost wise is less and that is why it is reflected in the retail price. For the minimum extra cost I would take the 3M.

The lumar stuff that we used to install in the 90s would eventually turn purple and was never as clear to look through as the 3M. Yes it appears on the outside to be a more 'black' looking tint but it really looks aftermarket compared to the 3M and feels like an add on when viewed from the inside outwards.

my 2 cents as a past installer and customer!

I like the 3M. Honestly, I forget it's there (but isn't that the point). I'm not familiar with Lumar but the 3M stuff is non metallic (graphite based) which doesn't interfere with my radar detector = win
