So I installed the black front overhead consol and get error messages
I am almost done with my anthracite swap
I installed the OEM black front consol tonight and I got this odd error. System says there is a problem with the sliding sunroof and to bring to my nearest BMW dealer. When I push back on the selector the sunroof goes up. When I push back the sunroof goes down. When I push up the sunroof doesn’t do anything. Could this be why I remember reading somewhere that if I installed this consol I would have to have it programmed by my dealer? |

I think you need to get the car reprogrammed now because you switched that unit.
Any pics of the swap to anthracite?

Pics tomarrow, its dark out. The work involved is so worth it and i will create a DIY for this.
I dont understand why it would need reprogramming but its not like I have a choice. |

The car I bought had the exact same problem before I took delivery. Something about the programming. It was so odd to me that the sunroof controls had software versus just being direct wired to the motor.

You have to re-initiate it.
LTBMW did this for me. I believe you push back to "open" the sunroof...but keep it pushed back for a couple of additional seconds. The sunroof will automatically go through cycle sequence...you let go, and viola! At least that is how I remember it. Try it, if it does not work...go to dealer or PM Longtran.

I thought for the BMW Assist to work again once you change that part you had to have the car reprogrammed

push the sunroof button in to vent and hold it that way till the sunroof goes through a calibration routine...once it stops moving you should be good to go
