Had the same problem a couple of months ago. (stopped working for a while, was working again for a few minutes after restarting the car, etc.). Not a fun thing in the rain. Dealer replaced motor. Car is fine now. Took about 2 days as they had to ship the part.

Good luck!

Happened to me, dealer didn't know what it was at first, no errors.
Found out the car was put in to "transportation" mode.

When I lived in San Diego, January was monsoon season. It rained like all day every day for the entire month. Shit would flood and houses would slide down hills. Real hellfire and brimstone type of stuff.

I actually discovered after it rained for 5 minutes in SoCal. My car was recently programmed, is there a chance that it is set in transportation mode? Or the motor being burnt out because of that? I have set a service appointment but I would just like to know what I can suggest to the SA.

Why do you have to suggest anything to your SA? I would think the only discussion you need to have is, "windshield wipers don't work, please fix them"....

True.. but sometimes the dealer does the bare minimum to get things working and I have to end up going back 2-3 times to actually get them to replace faulty parts.

Nope, all I have ever filled is windshield cleaner and coolant. I let the BMW maintenance do the rest.

HUH

If you are taking it to Irvine BMW and then yes you might want to suggest things to them, not very often they get it right on the first try!

Time to find a new dealer....I wouldn't tolerate that kind of service.

Yeah, the only thing these clowns are good at is voiding warranties.

Exactly, Irvine failed to fix my trunk that unlocks by itself for 3 times so I brought it to Crevier, took them twice but service was much more pleasant. They made my problem seemed like their problem.
